Personal Musings: New Year

Sunday, 30 December 2012

Super old pictures because I was too busy to take any over Christmas, sorry!

Christmas was a success! I stayed in, ate too much chocolate, watched movies on the television and cooked while Jack did the most manliest of manly things that a man can do on Christmas day and went to the pub. I struggled slightly with the dinner. At one point I thought that there would be no turkey! but I managed it! and I felt triumphant! Needless to say we couldn't eat it all and there were a ton of left overs taking up all of the free space in my little kitchen for a few days but that's not a problem, I think next year we'll just cook less (and swap the turkey for a chicken... because this year made me realise that I don't actually like turkey, woops!).

I spent boxing day seeing my family, mum put on a little get together at her house during the evening and it was so nice watching Christmas specials, eating lots of good food and drinking snowballs with the people I don't get to see much of nowadays. This Christmas has made me determined to see my family more often.

2012 has been one, huge learning curve! I've come into my own and I've been consistently happy this year so I'd like to say that it was a success. If I have one resolution for 2013 it would be to finally reach a place where I can balance my new, 'adult' responsibilities with the things that I want to do more of. I want to get back into old hobbies, spend more of my free time with the people who matter the most, explore more and to pay more attention to this place while still managing to fully concentrate on work and keeping on top of this house. We'll see how it goes :)

Have a fantastic New Year and stay safe! See you in 2013! x

  15. I'm really impressed by your cooking prowess...I can just about manage a basic humdrum meal nevermind the crazy multi-tasking demanded by Christmas Day cooking. It sounds like a really lovely Christmas though with all the right ingredients...good food, family and copious amounts of TV :) Good luck with your resolutions...I'm just after discovering your lovely blog but I'm looking forward to following your progression through 2013 :)
